AFTERSCHOOL

The mission of Rashi afterschool is to enable students to feel comfortable to express their creativity, participate in various indoor and outdoor activities with their peers, as well as to create a nurturing and academically supportive environment for our students. We offer exceptional child care with an enrichment component.

Core Program

Creative Works and Organized Sports and Games
Creative Works provides opportunities for artistic exploration of such topics as nature, science, and fine arts. Students also work on special units throughout the year, including our season tree, Artist Spotlight, and holiday themed projects. New for the fall of 2011 is the Literature Connection, where students create artwork through reading. Organized Sports and Games creates a positive atmosphere for enhancing confidence, team building, and sportsmanship. We offer a variety of indoor and outdoor activities each day.

Study Hall gives students in grades 3-8 a supportive environment – in our beautiful library – in which to do homework, work in groups and/or complete long-term assignments with energetic staff who help motivate and guide students through their work.

Electives

Each semester we offer a variety of Electives, such as karate, chess, dance and movement, fencing, sewing, singing, sports, and nature exploration. We also offer drama electives for students in grades 2-5 and 6-8, culminating in an end-of-semester performance. We are always adding new classes as well as repeating children's favorites.

Camps

We offer Adventure Camp on days when there is no school, due to professional development for teachers and parent/teacher conferences.
