HEALTH INFORMATION

The health and well-being of our students is a priority at Rashi. Our school nurse is available from 8 am–3 pm on school days. She oversees the health needs of all students and administers first aid and medications.

Physical Examinations

All students are required to have a copy of a current physical exam (within the last 12 months) and immunization record on file in the health office prior to the first day of school.  In order for a student to participate in the interscholastic sports program at Rashi, he/she must have a copy of a current physical exam on file. Please check with your child's physician before the start of school to be sure that physical exams and immunizations are up to date.

Medications

We have standing orders to administer acetaminophen, ibuprofen and Benadryl if the parent has signed a permission form. All other medications that require administration during school hours must be accompanied by a physician's order form. Click here for the form.

To ensure safety and effective monitoring of unauthorized medications or drugs, students may not carry or self-administer any medications during the school day. There are circumstances when exceptions can be made, such as inhalers for treatment of asthma. These individual situations should be discussed with the school nurse.

Any medication taken during school hours must be left with the nurse in its original pharmacy container labeled with the student's name, doctor's name, name of the drug, dosage and time to be administered.

Please check this page on a regular basis to access health updates.
