Last Daf Kesher of 2011

There will be no issue next week. Happy Chanukah and Happy New Year, and we will publish again on January 5, 2012.
Chanukah and Ritual

Lighting chanukiyot. Eating latkes. Spinning the dreidel. Opening presents....Chanukah's rituals are endless...The mitzvah of Chanukah, the commandment at the heart of the observance of the holiday, is a candle for each man and his household. Today, we understand that minimally, each house should light a chanukiyah. Not each synagogue, not each town, and not each JCC, but each family unit.
