Admissions

How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in The Rashi School!
Rashi’s admissions process is simple and straightforward, and our priority is ensuring that your child can succeed and thrive at Rashi. We do not require standardized testing; we conduct Kindergarten and Grade 1 screenings (in groups and one-on-one) and age-appropriate assessments for students entering Grades 2-8. Rashi reviews all students’ applications holistically, consistently, and equitably.

Here are the steps to apply your child to Rashi.

List of 7 items.

  • 1. Submit an inquiry.

Click here to submit an inquiry. This lets the Admissions team know that you want to learn more. We’ll follow up by phone or email.
  • 2. Schedule a tour.

Click here to schedule a tour. If you’ve never visited Rashi, now’s the time! We will typically begin with an interview conducted over Zoom between you as parent(s)/guardian(s) and Director of Admissions Ilyssa Greene Frey. We also invite you to attend one of our virtual events to help you learn more about the school, or one of our outdoor tours (held weather permitting) to observe classes and chat with faculty and administrators along the way.
  • 3. Submit the application for admission.

Please create an account in our online admissions system and complete the application, accompanied by a $65 application fee payable by credit card. You will be asked to upload a photo of your child and a copy of your child’s birth certificate. Families are encouraged to apply by January 31 in order to be included in the regular admissions cycle, however we welcome applications throughout the year on a space-available basis.
  • 4. Submit the following supporting materials (all can be done online).

    a. The AISNE (Association of Independent Schools in New England) student evaluation form(s), to be completed by your child’s teacher. Once the application is submitted, please login to the Parent Portal to email the AISNE form(s) to the teacher(s). If a paper copy is needed, please email rsavage@rashi.org to have a downloadable PDF sent to you. These forms need to be submitted directly to the Rashi Admissions department by the teacher(s).

    b. Authorization for Release of Transcript form, to be submitted to your child’s current school. This grants permission for them to forward your child’s most recent academic records to Rashi. These records can also be submitted electronically, once requested by a parent through the Parent Portal.
  • 5. Apply for financial aid by February 8.

The Rashi School provides financial aid to approximately 35% of students based on demonstrated need, totalling more than $2 million annually. Learn about our financial aid process here.
  • 6. Schedule your child’s visit.

This process is fully virtual for the 2020-2021 school year. Academic and social assessments are conducted by a Rashi educator once the AISNE teacher form(s) has been received. Please be in touch with Rachel Savage to schedule this step.
  • 7. Receive an admissions decision on March 10.

We communicate our decision with parents by email and postal mail.
If your student is admitted to Rashi, the deadline for submitting a signed enrollment contract and deposit is April 9, 2021.
