In her teaching, Jessica Solomon demonstrates a strong commitment to both social justice and personalized education.
Jessica is a graduate of Phillips Andover Academy and the Mountain School of Milton Academy. She received her BA in Political Science from Haverford College in 2001 and went on to receive an M.Ed in Elementary Education from Lesley University in 2006. Currently, Jessica is in her 13th year as a faculty member at The Rashi School, working as a lead teacher in a third-grade classroom.
In her teaching, Jessica demonstrates a strong commitment to both social justice and personalized education. She is currently the teacher leader of the JBlend Team and is a valued member of several curriculum development committees. Outside of school, Jessica has pursued opportunities as an advocate and mentor. Jessica worked for Brandeis University as a mentor in their DeLeT program for three years, served as the director of Cambridge Adventure Day Camp for five years, and currently works at URJ Eisner Camp on the senior leadership team. She also frequently publishes articles related to parenting and education on a wide variety of websites.
Jessica's innovative classroom ambassador program was the inspiration behind the current Admissions Ambassador Initiative, which has played a powerful role in introducing prospective families and staff members to the school community. She is the proud Rashi parent of current 2nd and 4th graders, appreciative of the opportunity to experience the rigor and breadth of curriculum from a personal vantage point. Her practice reflects her commitments to the school, evolving constantly in response to the needs of the entire Rashi community.
