Boston Area Reform Jewish K-8 Independent School

The Rashi School: The Boston Area’s Only Reform Jewish Independent School for Grades K-8

Offering an academically-challenging education, infused with Jewish values and a commitment to social justice.

Located in Dedham, The Rashi School prepares elementary- and middle-school students for 21st-century success. Every day, our students engage in higher-order thinking by questioning, analyzing, creating, collaborating, and connecting their learning to the world. Small class sizes ensure that students are known as learners and as individuals. The Rashi community inspires students to grow as scholars, to develop a confident sense of self, and to connect deeply to their Jewish culture. Our students have compassion and a drive to improve the world around them. Our graduates thrive in schools that are ranked among the top high schools in Massachusetts.

A Rigorous Curriculum and a Unique Program

Our core curriculum offers a strong academic experience that is enriched with the history and culture of the Jewish people within the context of a multicultural society. In addition to making cross-disciplinary connections between language arts, social studies, math, and science, students are guided to relate topics of study to Jewish identity in a meaningful way. Math and science classes connect content to real-world applications and state-of-the-art technology programs. At every grade, social justice initiatives foster empathy and empower students to engage with the broader community. Rashi students also express themselves creatively through fine arts in our studio and theater, compete athletically on our fields and in the community through our interscholastic sports program, and benefit from a social-emotional curriculum which teaches them to set positive goals and make responsible choices.
