In an effort to make Jewish day school education more accessible to families, Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) offers its Discover Day School program. This incentive program is in lieu of financial assistance from the school. CJP will cover 25% of K-8 Jewish day school tuition (up to $6,000 a year) for one child for a period of up to three years, beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year.
To be eligible, a family must:
- Be enrolling a child at a Jewish Day School for the first time, and
- Have an annual income between $100,000 and $299,000 after “Jewish” deductions (e.g., synagogue membership and Jewish preschool tuition).
Families are welcome to apply for both Rashi’s Financial Aid Program and Discover Day School and to select the program that is best for them. After the third year of receiving a Discover Day School grant, families seeking continued financial assistance may apply for Rashi's need-based financial aid. Please note that eligibility requirements for Rashi’s Financial Aid Program and for Discover Day School are quite different. Eligibility for Discover Day School does not indicate eligibility for Rashi’s Financial Aid Program.
