: to identify, screen, and provide sight treatment–free of charge–to children with low vision and curable blindness in villages across north-central India.
- 90% of blind children in developing countries are unable to get an education; fewer than 50% survive into adulthood. Most of their parents make less than $1.25 a day and support anywhere from 7-11 people in one household.
- Founded in 2005 and based in Cambridge, MA. Annual donations in 2014 were $135,000.
- Has screened 42,000 children ranging in age from 9-21 years old and provided surgeries on more than 600 eyes since 2014.
