Meet Our Shinshinim

We are thrilled to be entering our fourth year being a host school for the Boston Shinshinim.
Shin Shin stands for Shenat Sheirut, Year of Service. These are Israelis, fresh out of high school, taking a year of service before the army. Their purpose is to help Americans learn more about Israel and thus love Israel more.

This year we will host Adar Gitsis and Nitzan Zacharia. Nitzan has been to Rashi before as a guest of our 8th Graders from our sister school in Haifa, Leo Baeck! Here is a video that Adar and Nitzan, along with their North Shore Shinshin counterparts Sapir and Michal made.

Nitzan and Adar will officially begin visiting classrooms on Wednesday, September 12. They will be here every Wednesday and Friday through the end of the school year.  During the first month that they are here, Nitzan and Adar will meet every student in the building. After that, the two of them will guest teach in classes about Israel throughout the year.
