Head of School Search Update - September
Shana tova and chag sameach to everyone. Our school year is off to a great start as renewed energy infuses our classrooms and our halls. Thanks so much to Bud for his quick assumption of leadership. We are so blessed to have him join our community. A big thank you also to our wonderful faculty and staff for their professionalism and optimism as we embark on the search for a permanent head of school. As members of the search committee, we are honored to take on the task of finding a leader for our community - one who understands our core values and who can take Rashi to the next level of Jewish connection and academic excellence.
The members of the search committee reflect the diversity of opinion, life experience, and community engagement at both Rashi and within our greater Jewish world. They are Rosa Franck, David Frankel, Helene Gelber, Rachel Happel, Charlie Ishikawa, Chuck Myers, Dena Rashes, Rebecca Scharfstein, Barry Shrage, Geraldine Sunshine, Howard Wolk, and Rebecca Burack (ex-officio as Rashi Board Chair). Many of you have already shared your thoughts, concerns, and ideas with members of this committee, and we encourage you to continue to do so especially through the special feedback process that we will have in place as candidates start coming to campus for their interviews.
You may find more information on the the head of school search on the Rashi website at https://www.rashi.org/hos. The Rashi website also contains the job description and position statement which you can share freely with your networks and friends in case they have possible candidates in mind. Moreover, if you have any leads that you think we should pursue, please share those names or contacts with our search consultant, Bob Henderson of RG175, at email@example.com.
We aim to find a new head of school by early 2019, and remain flexible in order to find the best person possible. In the meantime, we are incredibly grateful that our community and children's education are in excellent hands under Bud's strong leadership.
We wish everyone all the best for the school year ahead. Thank you again so much for your dedication to our community and for your love of Rashi.
