Adam Miller, Class of 1999
"My Rashi classmates and I came out of the gate with a major head start. We already know about some of the most important things in life."
"Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World). Community. Justice. Learning. These are values that drive my short- and long-term decision making. These are long-standing Jewish values. For many Jews and non-Jews alike, it takes a lifetime to learn the importance of having guiding principles like these. My Rashi classmates and I had a major head start. We already knew about some of the most important things in life."
Adam Miller is the first Rashi alum to serve on the school's Board of Trustees. A graduate of Weston High School and M.I.T., Adam is the CEO and co-founder of Abroad101, the world's first and largest study abroad review website and data marketplace.
According to Adam, Abroad101 ties in with the values instilled in him from an early age at Rashi. "Study abroad changes people's lives. It turns students into global citizens, individuals who recognize that life and humanity come first and that we must try not to let our differences lead to war and persecution. Abroad101's mission is to promote global citizenship by fostering the most meaningful study abroad experience for all students through technology innovation in higher education."
Adam started his first technology consulting company while at Rashi and helped start two other companies, one of which was acquired by the Kauffman Foundation, prior to founding Abroad101.
"I am honored to have been chosen by the Rashi community to be part of the leadership structure," says Adam, who is thrilled to be a member of the school's Board. "It means so much to be recognized as someone who can contribute to the future of Rashi. As a higher education professional and an entrepreneur, I can really feel the strategic needs of The Rashi School and apply to my work on the Board what I learn every day at my job."
