NewBridge Residents Share Their Immigration Stories, Enrich Grade 3 Curriculum
Rashi’s multigenerational campus allowed our Grade 3 students access to rich, personal stories which supported their immigration curriculum.
After learning about where their own families came from, students in Grade 3 were paired with NewBridge residents and employees to hear the story of how they came to the United States. Their interviews introduced the kids to immigrants from countries across the globe: England, Jamaica, Haiti, Canada, Russia, England, and Israel—among others. “I’ve never told my immigration story,” admits a first-generation American and NewBridge resident. “No one has ever asked.”
