Alumni Named Among Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40

The National LGBT Bar Association recently celebrated Rashi alum Gavin Fishman ('99) for being named among the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40. Read their post!
Gavin is an Associate at Ropes & Gray LLP where he works in the hedge funds practice group. Gavin's dedication to the LGBTQ community dates well back into his time at Harvard Law, where he graduated magna cum laude, was recognized for completing over 1,000 hours of pro bono and public service during law school, and was a core team member of Massachusetts Transgender Legal Advocates, a group which provides pro bono representation to low-income transgender and gender non-conforming individuals. During his 2L year, Gavin was Harvard Law's Student Representative to the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association’s Board of Directors, where he regularly opened the lines of communication between a number of LGBTQ student groups in the greater Boston area. Gavin was elected to the Board in 2013, and he now serves as its Co-Chair. In addition, Gavin has served on the Host Committee of Professionals for Transgender Rights since 2010, and he dedicates the majority of his pro bono time to representing transgender and gender non-conforming clients, as well as LGBTQ clients fleeing life-threatening persecution in their home countries and seeking asylum in the United States.
