The 2017 Annual Dinner

On Tuesday, May 9, more than 475 guests attended The Rashi School's 2017 Annual Dinner at the Seaport Boston Hotel. This year's dinner honored Barbara and Ed Shapiro (parent of Joshua, '15 and Samantha, '16) with the Kehillah Award for their ongoing commitment to making a difference at Rashi, in the Greater Boston community, and across the globe.
The poise and skill with which 8th Graders Bennett G., Seth T., and Yael B. spoke at our dinner is a testament to the strength of Rashi's innovative curriculum and the dedication of our teachers.

This commitment to academic excellence is made available to Rashi students thanks to your support.

Special Guests
Remarks by Massachusetts Lt. Governor Karyn Polito and CJP President Barry Shrage paid tribute to honorees Barbara and Ed Shapiro, as did a video message from philanthropist and community leader Jeff Swartz.

The evening concluded with a fun, celebratory song and dance routine led by the 2012 winner of "The Voice," Jermaine Paul.

We paid tribute to Head of Upper School Glenda Speyer for all that she has given to Rashi during her 16 years at the school. When she steps down from her role in June, the Rashi kehillah will miss her enormously.

Our Tikkun Alums
We celebrated our Tikkun Alums, Larry Tobin, '01 and Rosie Eiduson, '09, who have demonstrated through their personal and professional lives a strong commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world).

Serving as proof of the vibrancy of our growing alumni association, more than 30 alumni joined the celebration!

Many Thanks to So Many Rashi Supporters for Their Generous and Ongoing Support of the School!

We extend heartfelt thanks to all those involved in the planning and execution of this year's event and for helping to make it Rashi's best Annual Dinner yet!
