The Tikkun Alum Award was created in 2012 to recognize Rashi School alumni who, through their personal or professional efforts, have continued to demonstrate the values of social justice instilled in them as students at Rashi. The recipient(s) of this award will be recognized at the Rashi Annual Dinner and will also be invited to spend a day at Rashi, sharing with students their ongoing efforts, and the ways in which Rashi social justice initiatives shaped their directions and pursuits.
We would like to invite current and alumni Rashi families, faculty and staff to submit nominations for this year’s Tikkun Alum. Please keep in mind the following criteria when submitting your nomination.
Nominee should be:
A former Rashi student, college age or older (note that the student need not be a Rashi graduate, but attended Rashi at one time),
A participant in ongoing/current social justice projects(s)* (professionally or personally), and/or someone who has demonstrated an outstanding effort or action in response to “injustice,” and
Available to spend a school day at Rashi.
*Finalists will be asked to provide supporting references of their social justice work.
Deadline: February 2, 2018
We hope that the winner(s) will be available to attend the Annual Dinner in May to accept the award.
