The historic 2021-2022 Rashi basketball season wrapped up with the annual faculty vs. Grade 8 game, played in front of a packed house full of Rashi parents, students, and teachers. It was close throughout, but looked like the faculty was going to come out on top as they clung to a 1-point lead, the clock ticking toward the buzzer.

However, with only 5 seconds to go and still down by one point, Grade 8 inbounded the ball to Josh “Big Red” P., who hit a miracle 3-point shot to give the students an improbable victory. The memories of the shot, the exuberant celebration that followed, and of course the enduring good-natured trash-talk, will echo through Rashi’s halls for years to come. Though the faculty is disappointed to see our years-long undefeated streak come to an end as the result of a lucky heave, we all had a great time and are happy to come out of the game without any significant injuries. We can’t wait until next year!
